Can You Recognize an "Old Friend" You've Never Met?
It’s like you’ve been looking at a field of grass and suddenly found a path you recognize.
Have you ever had that experience? That strange, warm realization that someone who should be an other is actually a part of your family?
That moment is a clue to the spiritual truth of human existence: We are One.
The Symphony You Were Born to Play
If you feel slightly out of tune with the world lately… if the headlines leave you feeling fragmented and the divisiveness feels like static rather than music, you are not alone. It’s easy to get lost in the noise and forget that you have a specific, essential part to play.
That is why we are dedicating our focus this week at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, to exploring The Oneness of Humanity. We are learning from our friends in the Bahá'í Faith, a tradition that views every person on this planet, of any race or religion, as deriving their inspiration from the exact same heavenly Source.
Here is what happens when you decide to listen to that Source:You stop measuring your ideas by whether the powerful acknowledge them, and start measuring them by how much oneness they bring into expression.
You begin to see your "misreading of reality" (the times you thought in terms of "us" and "them") as a call to connection rather than a wall.
You discover that your limitations, loss, and difficulty can sometimes, not always, deepen your capacity to love.
You get in touch with the "cotton ball" of potential within you—that raw Divine material that can become rugged denim or delicate lace, but never stops being pure, unmanifested Spirit.
