Easter: A Season of Awakening
In his final Easter message, Dr. Ernest Holmes, founder of the Science of Mind, wrote about our great hope: that consciousness continues beyond this life. But he also urged us not to miss the opportunity to live this life fully, to meet each day with creativity, compassion, and courage. In this way, every day can be a resurrection.
At the Center for Spiritual Living Santa Rosa, we celebrate eternal life not as something distant but as something we are living right now. We draw inspiration from the story of Easter not only as a symbol of Jesus’s resurrection but also as a call to awaken—to rise up from fear, isolation, or despair and to live with love, trust, and purpose.
This Sunday, we’ll explore what it means to rise — in faith, in service, in unity — and to let the qualities of compassion and courage be born in us again. Whether your background is Christian, interfaith, or nonreligious, you’re warmly invited to join us.

Let this season be a gentle invitation to awaken — not all at once, but day by day. Light a candle. Say a prayer. Help someone in need. Forgive. Begin again.
The spirit of resurrection lives in the everyday.
