CHAPLAINS TO BE COMMISSIONED - April 28

The Sonoma County Law Enforcement chaplains will commission a new group that has completed training to serve as law enforcement community volunteers.
The mission of the chaplains is to support law enforcement when immediate emotional support is needed. Chaplains are an interfaith community of compassionate volunteers without religious, political or legal agendas. They stand with law enforcement when making death notifications and are trained to be a calming influence during the worst of times.
Commissioning ceremonies will be April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Santa Rosa Christian Church, 1315 Pacific Avenue in Santa Rosa. Family, friends and the public are invited.
The chaplain candidates are Yolanda Ayala, Kristen Fladseth, Heidi Fortkamp, Teresa Franklin, Kevin Fye, Nancy Hyder, Lisa Leeb, Cynkay Morningsong and Nace Nickel. Each will be on call a minimum of one 24-hour period each month.
Applications for the next chaplains academy are being accepted. To learn more about the service visit www.sonomalawchaplains.com. Or call Academy Director Beverly Liberman at 290-6174 to learn more about becoming a Sonoma County law enforcement chaplain.
