Focus and Be Open to the Divine

Share it Please
My new puppy – Quentin – teaching him to focus
So that his attention is drawn to distractions that could be dangerous, so when a big truck is coming, I hold a treat up and say “Focus.”

He is learning that it more rewarding for him to focus than it is for him to go running after that cat or dog.

Do you know that the same technique works with adult humans
Learn to focus on a quality of the divine and we learn quickly
that it is more rewarding than chasing after whatever it is
that scares, attracts, disturbs, angers us.

I’m thinking now of your Youth and Family Ministry.
How I miss watching the children and parents coming in.
Every week in Youth Church, the children used to, and will again one day, perform Candlelighting Ceremony..

To focus attention to qualities of Divinity.
Clearly the Divine must be beyond any one name or quality.
Still, we use these qualities to point in the direction.
Life, Light, Joy, Peace, Beauty, Power and Love

Whether young or older - Using one of these qualities to focus on
and see the world through it Is a powerful way to open to a larger experience of life.

Seeing Good At Work
I have been through the book three times over three years, and am starting it again. This is not because the material in the book is not working, but because it is working so well! The weekly lessons keep me on track and focused on what is actually true and important, and help me experience more good in every area of my life. LS
