Crisis Fatigue? Don't Let Breaking News Break You. Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Santa Rosa

Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Santa Rosa. It’s easy for a person to get what I call “crisis fatigue” which comes from large-scale challenges in rapid succession, its main ingredient is uncertainty, and it has the effect of numbing us. Some people are struggling with this crisis fatigue because they are bombarded by the news of the worst that is happening.

It makes it easy to forget that every day humans are capable of great acts of heroism, that every day – even in the reality of tragedies, human made or natural, great acts of heart and courage continue to erupt.

Today we are considering our original and natural innocence and how to take steps to mindfully return to that state every day. Use the words of Ernest Holmes as a guide. Say to yourself first thing in the morning, “My mind is quiet, calm, and deeply still. All tension is released and the great inner peace flows out through every nerve. My body rests in the still silence of the Spirit. I bless my body and my mind, for they are good and worthy of my love.”

To supplement our spiritual adventure this month, we recommend reading The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz. Here is an October question for your consideration: Where in your life do you experience quiet and calm the most? And, when did you last access that space?
