Forgive Myself, Forgive Each Other, Be Patient with the Process

Share it Please

Dear Friends,

In Living the Science of Mind, on page 400, Dr. Ernest Holmes writes: “No one can feel one with God who hates anyone or anything."

(To see the video below on YouTube, click here.)

"You will remember," Dr. Holmes writes, " that in the Lord's Prayer Jesus said, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. For he knew that it is only as we forgive that we can be forgiven. At first thought this looks as though we were bargaining with God, but such is not the case. God is Life and Love, and how can Life and Love flow through us if we stop them at any point? It is not because we bargain with the Almighty that Jesus said forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. The real reason is that it is impossible for us to have a sense of being forgiven while we condemn others. And now we are putting the proposition in the only place where it can be handled—within.”

This month our focus is on Happiness and Fulfilment, and the role that forgiveness and inner spiritual work play. We recommend The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu for supplemental reading to support your exploration of the ideas presented in Living the Science of Mind.

May you be filled with loving kindness,

Edward Viljoen
