Surviving the Storms of Life. Your True Nature is Love, with Edward Viljoen

Francis de Sales' quote from the message in the video below seems even more important to me today when the world is going through such turmoil.

Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.

I've been talking to colleagues about the shooting in Las Vegas, the tragedy in Puerto Rico, and the challenge of crisis fatigue, and the importance of having a spiritual practice, and a community of fellow seekers in which to take refuge, and where staying close to peace is supported and nurtured.

This month, at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, we focus on a new spiritual value: Love as Safety. The concept of safety in spiritual terms rests on the understanding of Spirit as being everywhere present, an understanding that reduces stress and promotes a sense of belonging in this world.

Ernest Holmes’s meditations on Spirit within are perfect for generating peace and a sense of well-being. For example, consider this thought: My mind now releases all sense of burden or strain. Nothing can hurt or disturb my spiritual self. I am free and safe. All plans and ideas can wait until later. Divine Wisdom works through me.

What would your life be like if you regularly released all sense of burden or strain? My topic today, “The Real You is Love,” is based on the idea that when we drop false concepts about ourselves, what remains is love, and we can trust that!

Las Vegas Response
We've heard from one of our Center for Spiritual Living ministers in Las Vegas. This is how you can help, he says, the call ringing most loudly right now is the need for blood. Donate blood in your nearest United Blood Services location if you are able, and when your local community's blood needs are met United Blood Services will send blood to Las Vegas. This, my colleague says, is a direct aid of the highest magnitude. Be sure to make an appointment in advance at:

Seeing Good At Work
I have been through the book three times over three years, and am starting it again. This is not because the material in the book is not working, but because it is working so well! The weekly lessons keep me on track and focused on what is actually true and important, and help me experience more good in every area of my life. LS
